Terms of Service

By using our website, requesting a quote or engaging us for services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you are engaging us on behalf of a business, condominium corporation or other organization, you confirm that you are authorized to do so. Where a signed quote or service agreement conflicts with these Terms, the signed document governs.

Winsolux supplies and installs window film: security and safety film (including Madico SafetyShield® systems and structural silicone anchoring), solar-control and tinting film, and privacy and decorative film. We serve Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area, including York Region, Peel, Halton and Durham.

A typical project runs: a no-charge site assessment; a written quote with product recommendations; installation by our trained crew; and a final walk-through with warranty documentation.

• Quotes are free and valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise on the quote.
• Prices are in Canadian dollars. HST is shown separately unless the quote states it is included.
• Pricing is based on the measurements and conditions observed at the assessment. If site conditions, glass or scope differ materially from what was quoted, we will confirm any change in writing before proceeding.
• A deposit may be required to order material, particularly for larger or custom projects. The deposit amount and payment schedule are stated on your quote.
• The balance is due on completion. We accept e-transfer, credit and debit, and cheque or cash by arrangement.
• Overdue balances may be subject to interest at 1.5% per month (18% per year), and we may suspend warranty service while an account is in arrears.

Film. Madico films carry the manufacturer's warranty: a lifetime warranty on film performance for interior residential installations, and term warranties (typically up to 10 years, depending on product and application) for commercial and exterior installations. Manufacturer warranties cover defects such as peeling, bubbling, cracking and discolouration under normal use. Terms are set by Madico and are provided with your documentation.

Workmanship. Winsolux warrants its installation workmanship, including the anchoring bead, for two years from the installation date. If an installation defect appears in that period, we will repair or replace the affected film at no charge.

Exclusions. Warranties do not cover damage from impact, attempted break-in, fire, flood or other acts of nature, glass failure or thermal stress in glass not recommended for film, cleaning with abrasive tools or solvents, modification or removal by others, or ordinary wear. Security film reduces the risk of forced entry and injury from broken glass; it does not make glass unbreakable and is not a substitute for insurance or an alarm system. Our remedy under any warranty is repair or replacement at our discretion.

Warranty claims should be reported to us promptly. Residential film warranties generally transfer to a new owner of the property; ask us for details.

• Please provide clear, safe access to every window or door on the quote, including moving furniture, blinds and personal items away from the glass. Time spent clearing access may be billed.
• Someone 18 or older should be present at the start and end of the installation.
• Tell us before installation about any pre-existing scratches, seal failure or damage to glass or frames; we are not responsible for pre-existing conditions.
• Freshly installed film goes through a curing period, typically 30 days or longer in cold weather, during which it may look hazy or show small water pockets. This clears on its own. Do not clean the film during curing.
• We may reschedule for weather, safety or supply reasons, and will do so at no additional cost to you.

We schedule around you, and we are happy to move an installation date. We do not, however, offer cancellation refunds once a project is booked.

• Rescheduling. You may reschedule a booked installation at no charge with at least 48 hours' notice. Inside 48 hours, or if our crew arrives and cannot access the work area, a rebooking fee may apply to cover the lost day.
• Deposits. Deposits secure your installation date and are used to order film cut for your project. They are non-refundable but remain fully credited to your project when it is rescheduled.
• Custom and cut film. Film cut or ordered for your project is non-refundable once ordered.
• Our cancellations. If we have to move a date for weather, safety or supply reasons, we reschedule at no cost to you, and if we are unable to complete the project at all, your deposit is refunded in full within 14 business days.

Your rights under Ontario law. Nothing in this section limits the rights of a residential customer under the Consumer Protection Act (Ontario). Where an agreement is signed at your home, you have a 10-day cooling-off period from the day you receive your written copy, during which you may cancel for any reason and receive a full refund within 15 days. For that reason, residential installations are normally scheduled after the cooling-off period has passed; if you ask us in writing to begin sooner, you may still cancel within the 10 days but will be responsible for the reasonable value of work already performed.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Winsolux's total liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the amount you paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, including loss of use, loss of contents or business interruption. Winsolux carries commercial general liability insurance; a certificate is available on request.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Ontario law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

SafetyShield®, FrameGard™ and Madico® are trademarks of Madico, Inc., used with permission as an authorized installer. The website is provided as-is; performance figures quoted are typical manufacturer values and actual results depend on glass type, framing and installation.

If something goes wrong, contact us first — most issues are resolved with a site visit. If we cannot agree, both parties will attempt mediation before starting any legal proceeding. Any claim must be started within one year of the event giving rise to it, or within the limitation period required by law if longer. These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario, and disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ontario.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version posted on this page at the time you engage us applies to your project. Continued use of the website after a change is posted means you accept the updated Terms.
